Brentwood Christian School senior Rayen Flandes was recently named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American Watchlist for the 2024 season.
Flandes, who has been on the varsity volleyball team at BCS since her freshman year, has been one of the most decorated players in program history, notching 2500 assists this season and being part of over 130 wins and consecutive TAPPS state tournament appearances her sophomore and junior seasons.
The AVCA is made up of over 9,000 volleyball coaches in the United States and has been around as an organization since 1981. In order to qualify for the All-American Watchlist, players must be a Class of 2025 graduate and be recognized for significant accomplishments in the sport.
Flandes and the BCS volleyball team will continue their quest to make it three straight trips to the state tournament in the coming weeks, including a road matchup today with Brighter Horizons Academy. The TAPPS District 2-5A tournament is set to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
